Captain’s Log, Stardate, 11/14/13, from your SEO Consultant Florida: Our destination is the social media world and we will attempt to make sense out of all the chaos. We are boldly going where many
have gone before, yet we expect different results because of a recommended across-the-board strategy.
Google+, Facebook, Twitter and your Blog
Business and organization websites that want to build brand awareness and increase search traffic need to use social media. But how do you do it? At minimum, I recommend setting up Google+, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube accounts (5) for your business. In addition, use your blog to help tie these channels together. For example: Each week, create 2 social media posts for Monday and Wednesday for Facebook, Twitter and Google+. Your website’s weekly blog post can also be your Friday post for the above 3. Basically, you are creating 3 posts per week. To streamline things even further, if you make your social media posts under 140 characters, the same post will always work for Google+, Facebook and Twitter and you will not have create different content. You may be thinking, “But what about Friday’s blog post?” Yes, make that headline under 140 characters too and use it.
Quick Tip: You can also insert your keywords, such as SEO Consultant Florida, into your social media posts. Don’t overdo it though, or you may get penalized.
With LinkedIn, you can begin engaging in surveys and other conversations that can be linked to and from your website. Think of this channel as its own little island, where people go to visit… and the search engines know it exists too.
YouTube
YouTube is becoming a major player in the SEO world as video content become more easily viewable due to increased bandwidth capability. Create your own free channel and begin producing at least (1) monthly video. Good videos get likes, shares and comments which count as warm social signals to the search engines. In addition, post your latest videos on your other social media channels and your blog.
